Because the 650hp LT4 under the hood of a Camaro ZL1 just wasn’t enough, Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) just released the 2019 Yenko/SC Camaro. Stage I will make a healthy 835 horsepower, but opt for a Stage II package and you’ll be blessed with an astounding 1,000 horsepower.
Since the 1,000hp Stage II Yenko/SC is clearly the one to get, we’ll direct our focus there and tell you everything you need to know. First of all, the holy-grail horsepower number is achieved via a built 416ci LT1 with a rotating assembly made up of a forged crankshaft, forged H-beam rods, and forged aluminum pistons. The heads were also upgraded significantly with custom CNC-porting along with a higher-output fuel system to support the big power. While the engine in naturally aspirated form might do alright, SVE slapped on their own custom roots-style supercharger to boost the engine output to that magical 1,000 horsepower. Then, custom stainless steel long-tube headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and custom stainless exhaust system let the engine breathe easy and sound like a true Yenko. Finally, putting all that power down in the 2019 Yenko/SC Camaro are gunmetal-finished five-spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin PS4S tires.
To ensure the best in handling and driveability, SVE chose the 2019 Camaro SS 1LE to base the new Yenko on. That means it’ll have the performance-oriented options such as GM’s class-leading Magnetic Ride Control paired with an electronic limited-slip differential in the rear. The 1LE’s front splitter and rear spoiler will work to keep the car planted while the Recaro Performance Seats keep the driver planted.
